Clyde Ringing Group
Operating widely over the former Strathclyde Region and the central belt of Scotland. The Clyde Ringing Group have a number of ongoing projects which include wintering Jack Snipe, Eider Duck colonies, Gull and Tern colonies, Wader Roosts, Wintering Ducks and Firth of Clyde seabird colonies on Ailsa Craig and Sanda.
What We Do

The group regularly net coastal areas for colour ringing projects on Gulls, Terns and Waders.

Many of the group’s projects involve ringing colonies to monitor the survival rate of chicks.

Passage migrants take up much of the autumn season with retrap data coming in from many other countries.

First Chiffchaff of 2021
On an outing to Kinneil Lagoons this morning, the first Chiffchaff of the year was caught! A lovely adult bird, first ringed at the same site in 2019, it has returned to breed every year since!
