Colour Ringing

Have you seen our birds?

The group are regularly colour ringing Gulls, Terns and Waders for easy spotting in the field. If you spot any of the birds below please email your sightings to iainlivcrg@gmail.com

Black Headed Gulls

All our Black headed gulls have a metal ring on one leg and a red plastic ring with white lettering on the other.

Sandwhich Terns

Our Sandwhich Terns have been seen in many different countries all over the world. They all have a white ring with black lettering on their left leg and a metal ring on thier right.

Lesser Black Backed Gulls

All our Lesser Black Backed Gulls have a metal ring on their right leg and a white plastic ring with red lettering on the left.

Common Terns

Our Common Terns have a metal ring on their right leg and a yellow plastic ring with black lettering on the left.

Common Gull

Our Common Gulls have a metal ring on their left leg and a yellow plastic ring with black lettering on the right leg.

Oystercatchers

Our Oystercatchers have a blue plastic ring on top of a metal ring on their right leg and a white plastic ring with black lettering on the left.

Herring Gulls

Our Herring Gulls, like our Lesser Black Backed Gulls, have a metal ring on their right leg and a white plastic ring with red lettering on their left leg.
